DISPOSABLE CONTACT LENSES. Disposable lenses that last only 1 day are popular, as are monthly disposable contact lenses. Conventional contact lenses are also still available and now have an even simpler cleaning routine.

Contact Lenses for DRY EYES.  Our PROVIEW PLUS CONTACT LENSES are made of a Bio-compatible material and is the only material FDA approved to provide comfort to those with dry eyes during contact lens wear.

COLOURED CONTACT LENSES. These fashion lenses can be used to change, enhance or illuminate the colour of your eyes. They can be dramatic or can be designed to look very natural. They are available both with a script (for visual correction) or plano (no script).

All contact lenses are prescription items (including plano lenses) and will require a valid prescription or assessment with an optometrist to ensure a safe fit on the eye. Please feel free to contact us for an appointment, or see below for more information on contact lens fitting.

ORTHOKERATOLOGY

ORTHOK  (ORTHOKERATOLOGY).  Allows you to be free of contact lenses and glasses during the day by reshaping the cornea overnight.  Custom designed contact lenses use fluid pressure to shape the epithelium overnight.  And it is completely reversible in a few days.   Ask us about if you are suitable for Emerald or Innovative OrthoK lenses.

Contact Lens Fitting

To ensure we are prescribing the best lenses for you, we have a piece of equipment called a Corneal Topographer. This maps the exact shape of the cornea and helps to detect small changes in vision that is otherwise not detected or for diagnosis of keratoconus.  Small problems with vision can sometimes be explained by abnormal shape of the cornea.  It is very important for measurement of astigmatism and for accurate contact lens fitting.

This is a topographic map from the corneal topographer showing astigmatism – therefore this person needs glasses or special contact lenses called toric lenses that correct for the astigmatism.

Contact lens prescriptions are valid for 12 months, and benefits for lenses can be claimed from your Health Insurance. The golden rule when wearing contact lenses is: Your eyes should Look Good, See Good, and Feel Good.
